The Fisherrow Trust
Annual General Meeting - 31st August 2010 at 7.30pm
All
members of The Fisherrow Trust are invited to this year's Annual
General Meeting. Due to popular demand this year's AGM will take the
same theme as last year's, i.e. Trust business will be followed by a
quiz and karaoke. Notice will be going out to all Trust members
shortly, and it would be very helpful if members could let us know
if they are going to attend. This will help us judge how much
nibbles and drinks we will need!
If
you are not already a member of The Fisherrow Trust, please drop
into the office and complete our application form. (All
members were due to renew membership by 1st July).

New
- Baby Health - Drop-in
Starting on Tuesday 4th May
2010, weekly from 1pm until 3pm in the annexe building. For parents
or carers with babies up to one year old.
What's on offer:
- A chance to meet other
parents
- An opportunity to speak to
a member of the health visiting team (privately if necessary)
- Access to health promotion
resources
- A forum for discussion on
parenting issues
- Help and advice with your
baby's minor ailments
- Baby weight checks (in
accordance with current guidelines)
- User friendly - just come
along!

At
Last!
We now have a
new gas central heating system in the annexe! This has been made
possible by a grant of £39,500 from the Musselburgh Common Good Fund
towards the total cost. The work was completed around the middle of
January by Connaught Compliance Gas Services Ltd and Sitec,
and a huge thanks to the contractors for their excellent hard work,
and causing very little disruption to Centre groups. No need for an
extra layer on in the annexe now! We are expecting the outcome of
grant applications at the end of March, which if successful, will
enable us to instal a new heating system in the main building. |

Zumba comes to
Fisherrow!
Would you like
to get fit whilst having fun? We have Zumba classes on a Monday from
6.30 - 7.30pm, and from 7.45 - 8.45pm. On Tuesdays from 6 - 7pm, and
8 - 9pm. Fiona also runs a Boxercise class from 7pm - 7.45pm on
Tuesdays. Classes are £3 each, or £5 for
the boxercise and Zumba together on Tuesdays. For more information,

We now have
guitar tuition (various levels and styles) for youths age 11 to 18 on a Friday

Low Cost
Room Hire for Groups and Clubs
We have various rooms available for hire most
days and nights, whether it's for a regular or a one-off
booking. The Centre is open Monday to Friday all day and most
evenings. The hourly rate for registered charities and
community organisations is currently £5.25
per hour, non-commercial profit making groups £10.50 per
hour and our commercial rate is £12.50 (all prices include

Tai Chi
Fancy
giving Tai Chi a go? Derek Smith holds a beginners'
Class in The Fisherrow Centre on Thursday evenings. Some of
the benefits of Tai Chi are balanced mind and body, improved
posture, toned body, increased awareness and reduced stress.
Classes are from 7pm until 8pm. For more information call

Our Parent and Toddler
group are looking for new members. They are a very informal
group and meet on a Tuesday from 10am - 12.00.
